Falmouth: Host Family Centre

Falmouth grew as one of the most important ports in South West England. The famous ‘Tall Ships’ race sometimes starts here. However its seaside location, excellent beaches and historic town all helped to make Falmouth one of Cornwall most successful tourist destinations. Its a busy commercial centre which is surrounded by friendly neighbourhood residential areas, many overlooking one of the largest deep water estuaries in the world. It is also close to the many interesting cultural attractions of West Cornwall.

HOST FAMILIES
Our host families are personally selected by our experienced Centre Director,
who also checks the programme details and cares for each group during their stay.
Each host family offers
• Full board accommodation in single or double bedrooms
• Doubles – sharing with another student or family member of the same gender and similar age
• An average of 2 but maximum of 4 students per family
• Integration in family life every evening and all day on Sundays

A TYPICAL DAY
0800 Breakfast with host family
0915 English lessons in a local school – 4× 45 minute lessons
1200 Lunch – packed lunch provided by the family
1400 Afternoon activities begin eg basketball, badminton, swimming, tennis, local visits
1700 Return to host families
1900 Once a week there is an organised social event eg a disco, bowling or cinema
