St Austell Host Family Centre

St Austell grew as a market town and the centre of the international china clay business. Its a busy commercial centre which is surrounded by friendly neighbourhood residential areas, many overlooking the very attractive St Austell Bay. It is also close to many beautiful historic seaside harbours and beaches, as well as the futuristic Eden Project with its biomes.

HOST FAMILIES
Our host families are personally selected by our experienced Centre Director,
who also checks the programme details and cares for each group during their stay.
Each host family offers
• Full board accommodation in single or double bedrooms
• Doubles – sharing with another student or family member of the same gender and similar age
• An average of 2 but maximum of 4 students per family
• Integration in family life every evening and all day on Sundays

A TYPICAL DAY
0800 Breakfast with host family
0915 English lessons in a local school – 4× 45 minute lessons
1200 Lunch – packed lunch provided by the family
1400 Afternoon activities begin eg basketball, badminton, swimming, tennis, local visits
1700 Return to host families
1900 Once a week there is an organised social event eg a disco, bowling or cinema
