Chertsey Host Family Centre
CHERTSEY is one of the oldest towns in Britain. It has some of the best Georgian architecture in Britain. It is situated near Woking on the River Thames in Surrey and is just 29km from central London. It is easily accessible by rail (35 minutes from Waterloo), air (5 miles from Heathrow) or road (near the M3 -M25 junction).
As Chertsey is so close to London, it is well suited to be a host family centre for school groups on an educational visits to the UK.
We have an experienced Centre Director and a good number of families who are used to hosting foreign students. Our*host families* are personally selected by our Centre Director, who looks after the groups whilst they are staying in the city.
Families provide full board accommodation for students in two, three or four students per family. Families look after the students every evening.
The town has a busy shopping centre and there is a great local museum – Chertsey Museum, which specialises in local history. Close by there is the very special Brookland Museum – with famous antique motor cars, historic and modern aircraft (including Concorde).
Educational Visits may be planned and booked by the visiting school group or by Sul.
We are able to provide a guide or escort for the visits if requested. There is also the option formal English lessons which link the language to the educational visits, enhancing the value of the trip for all school classes.
