Why SUL?

SUL Language Schools has over thirty years’ experience of looking after young people. Students are looked after by qualified and well-trained staff. We offer a very personal service with small schools and small class sizes (1:12), helping you improve your English fast and make friends and have fun.

What can SUL Language Schools offer me?

We can offer English language summer schools for young people as well as one to one home tuition courses year round.

For adults we offer year round one to one home tuition in General, Business English or English for Specific Purposes and also English and Culture Tours around Cornwall

Why should I send my child to your school?

Because he or she will make new friends, have a great time, experience new things, visit new places and importantly improve their English

Where are the summer schools?

We have residential schools in Farnham about an hour west of London and in Plymouth a friendly seaside city with few international students in the south west of England. Both schools are held in prestigious private colleges

We also have three host family international courses, two in South London and one in Plymouth. SUL offers a 1:4 course in South London where students are taught (by qualified and well trained teachers) in groups of 4 in their host family homes and have a full excursion programme into central London. Our South London International course offers teaching in a private college and friendly and caring host families.

Where can I study on the one to one programme?

South London, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire to the west of London, Exeter and Cornwall in the south west of England

Can my child arrive or leave outside your official course dates?

It is best if they come at the same time as everybody else, they will fit right in . However we can sometimes accommodate this, please email marketing@sul-schools.com to enquire.

How much are your transfer costs?

We have set all our standard transfer costs at £50 each way to be as easy as possible. This means that the longer transfer to Plymouth is extremely good value. Please note private transfers outside the standard 10am – 4pm or from different airports to those quoted will cost extra.

Students will be met by a bus, minibus or taxi and a representative of SUL will meet them off their plane or train.

How do you decide which class my child will join?

On the first day all students have a written test (a multiple choice where you choose the right answer) and a short oral test as well. This process should be over by about 11am and then students are put into their classes and the teacher observes to see if they are indeed in the right level.

How much does it cost?

Our summer school programmes cost from £550 per week including full board accommodation, 24 hour supervision, 15 hours of English per week, a full activity and social programme and insurance while in the UK. Transfers to and from the centre are not included.

What if my child is unhappy?

SUL takes our responsibilities to the welfare of your children very seriously. We train our staff to ensure your child is fully supervised and on residential courses put into a welfare group of no more than 8 students. We give all students a simple questionnaire after a couple of days so that we can pick up any problems, and staff are trained to talk to students and work to notice any signs of problems. That said it can be hard to spot issues and so if you have any concerns please call our 24 hour hotline* (00 44 (0) 1726 818 676) to discuss your worries with a member of our Head Office team. *only operates when courses are running

You can book at any time but please be aware that some courses fill up more quickly than others.
