Terms and Conditions
1. ENROLMENT REQUEST
Send the completed Enrolment Request Form, for a provisional booking. This should be sent by the person or organisation responsible for the payment of the fees to SUL Language Schools, by fax or by letter.
-
2. CONFIRMATION OF ENROLMENT and PAYMENT*
SUL will send confirmation of the availability of the course requested, together with our invoice and our Terms and Conditions, which must be read and agreed to before confirming your enrolment.
A non-refundable deposit of 250.00 Pounds Sterling is required to confirm a booking together with our Enrolment Form. Please send these by fax, email or post. SUL will then send a letter confirming receipt of the deposit and confirm if there is a place on the requested English Language course.
For students requiring visas, this letter is needed together with the official visa application documents. Should a visa be refused no further losses are incurred. If due to pressure of time fees are paid before the visa is received, SUL will refund all monies paid with the exception of the deposit. 10% of the total price is then due for groups. SUL will then send confirmation of the registration, together with details of all other services booked.
Payments should be made to SUL Language Schools Ltd in UK Sterling unless as specified for courses outside the UK. The following methods of payments must be used either a cheque drawn on a British Bank sent directly to SUL. Or Bank Transfer sent to the account name: SUL Language Schools Ltd at Lloyds Bank, High Cross Street, St Austell, Cornwall, PL25 4AF. Bank sort code: 30-97-28. Account No 00920957.
IBAN: GB67LOYD30972800920957 BIC: LOYDGB21319. This form of payment must include all bank charges at the sending and receiving end. A copy of the transfer document must be sent to SUL.
Please identify all payments with a) the students name b) course centre and dates c) type of payment (deposit or balance) and d) invoice number.
A further 20% is due for all group bookings, 3 months before the start of the course.
The balance of fees for groups is then due 30 DAYS before the start of the course or immediately with late registrations.
For individuals 100% of the course cost is due at least one month before the start of the course.
The Junior Medical and Travel Form must be received 4 weeks before the start of the course.
Delay in payment in no way lessens the liability to pay but may result in the cancellation of the registration. Failure to pay will mean that the student is not admitted to the course or the accommodation.
All prices shown are for students under the age of 18 years (unless otherwise clearly stated). Anyone who is 18 years old or older, who enrols on a course for Juniors may be refused or be obliged to pay an adult supplement.
Fees quoted include all taxes where applicable. In arranging accommodation, transfers or insurance, SUL is acting as an agent between client and supplier. These costs may be shown separately from course fees. These payments are treated as disbursements for tax purposes.
For all group bookings, a) option numbers must not change without agreement with the SUL office b) if the number of students arriving is greater than the numbers enrolled and paid for, the extra student may be refused services but where services are able to be provided, the full fees must be paid immediately on the arrival of the group c) if the size of the group is decreased after the price has been agreed, SUL reserves the right to alter the price accordingly.

3. SERVICES OFFERED*
The information in SUL brochures and other publicity is correct at the time of printing but in the event of circumstances beyond our control SUL reserves the right to change the services offered including the locations, dates, premises, programmes if necessary. Where numbers of students at any level are insufficient to form a viable group, we may provide group lessons at a different time or location. Alternatives will be of equivalent or greater financial value.
For host family accommodation, SUL acts as an agent in making disbursements to the host families.
If circumstances occur which are beyond the control of the company, including war, terrorism, civil unrest (threatened or actual), closure or blockage of airports, ports or international railway stations, cancellations or changes of scheduled international transport schedules, industrial action, threatened or actual, natural disasters, adverse weather conditions, pestilence, quarantine controls and cancellation by host families, which either delay, alter the dates or cause the cancellation of courses, the company cannot accept liability for any resulting loss, damage or expense.
Details of the programme and accommodation will be sent to participants one to two weeks before arrival and only once the full payment has been received. In the case of incorrect information being given by the student, for example concerning age or English level, SUL reserves the right to transfer the student to another course. No refunds will be made but any additional fees and or travel costs incurred will be payable by the student.
- 4. INDIVIDUAL CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY*
If for any reason SUL cannot offer the course as confirmed on registration, clients will be offered an alternative or refund of the fees paid. If for any reason your visa application is refused after enrolment has been accepted, on receiving proof of this refusal, SUL will offer a full refund within 31 days.
While SUL makes every effort to limit the costs of students cancelling after the deposit has been paid and before the start of a course the following scale of charges will apply:-
If you notify SUL over 4 weeks before travel, SUL will retain the non-refundable deposit only.
If you notify SUL 2 – 4 weeks before travel, SUL retains 50% of the total.
If you notify SUL 2 weeks or less before the start of the course, SUL retains 100% of the total fees.
Once the course has started, in principle no refund can be given for late arrival, early with-drawl, non-attendance or any other failure to take up services agreed to. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of SUL in deserving cases. Hence the necessity for insurance to cover for example illness, accident or delay by travel companies.
-
5. INSURANCE*
Students under the age of 18 must have comprehensive medical, travel and personal insurance.
As standard policies are often inadequate for the junior market, for your protection SUL has arranged a comprehensive policy with Student Guard , to cover you whilst you are in the UK. This is formulated especially for students on English language courses in the UK and is underwritten by ACE European Group Limited.
This is included in the price quoted for all individual direct bookings with SUL Language Schools, but this cover needs to be added to all group bookings if required.
Please refer to our Student Guard document for their terms and conditions.
-
6. CONDUCT*
A student may be asked to leave the course and school, if for any reason whatsoever:-

Put his/her or other’s health or safety in danger.
Anti-social behaviour threatens the well-being of other course members, the staff of the school or members of the public.
Bought and/or drunk alcohol or taken drugs.
Unsatisfactory attendance renders it impossible to deliver the course.
In these cases there will be no refund of fees or other payments made. If repatriation results, all costs will be paid by the student or their parents or by the organisation responsible for the student.
Students will be charged for any damage they cause during their stay. Damage and room key (where applicable) deposits will be payable at the start of residential courses; the cost will be given at the time of booking.
-
