Ayr

Ayr is the largest town on the coast south of Glasgow, on the west coast of Scotland. It began as a market town and trading port. This historic town has places remaining from the 15th century. It is now well known for Scotland’s most famous poet, Robert Burns, who was born just two miles away in Alloway. Ayr is now a modern tourist destination, with all the leisure facilities required. It is also of course an ideal base for exploring the West of Scotland, including Glasgow and Edinburgh too if desired.
