SUL offers two fantastic International Host Family course locations: South London and Plymouth where students can experience life in an English family's home while learning English and experiencing a fantastic fun and cultural activity and excursion programme.

SUL South London International offers students the opportunity of seeing the sights of London while staying in a safe and friendly environment to the south of the city. More details >

South London International Host Family Summer School

A fantastic opportunity for students to experience life in an English family home while seeing all the great sights that London has to offer. Our centre is in a safe and pleasant part of South London, an easy underground ride to the centre. Classes are taught in groups of 1:12 at a beautiful local private college. We offer an exciting and vibrant activity programme including London and Brighton beach. More details >

SUL South London 1 to 4 programme

A three week course where students are taught English in groups of 4 in a host family home. Teachers are qualified and experienced and deliver English lessons in a host family home. Your English teacher then accompanies the group of 4 on the activity programme in the afternoons giving much more opportunity to speak English than on conventional English language courses. Plymouth International Host Family course

SUL Plymouth international is ocated in the historical seafaring city of Plymouth, a city with excellent shopping and liesure facilities and few international students. The activity programme makes the most of our wonderful facilities for sports in a local private college and provides the opportunity to visit Cornish beaches and try surfing as well as visit The Eden Project. Welfare on Host Family courses

SUL gives the highest priority to students’ safety and happiness. Our reputation Is based on our ability to respond positively to agent and parent concerns:

  • All Students are supervised by an adult at all times
  • SUL conducts thorough host family interviews and legal document checking on an annual basis
  • Information on the potential family will be sent to you before we confirm the final placement
  • Students are issued with ID cards and an emergency phone number for the SUL 24 hour emergency line
  • Students will be asked for feedback on their stay at the half way point and again at the end, allowing us to act on any issues that arise
  • We have established links with local doctors, dentists and hospitals
  • All of our centres have a Centre Director who is responsible for ensuring that our students remain happy & healthy throughout their stay
