Intensive 4:1 summer school in London

SUL English language summer course in London by Big Ben

4 students to 1 teacher!

This course is open to individuals and open groups from agencies.

Students stay with families in a nice residential part of South London (Coulsdon or Purley). English classes are a short distance from their families, in host family homes or in local educational facilities.

Students experience the benefits of individual attention and group interaction in classes of 4.  Students have15 hours of English lessons per week, taught by experienced and qualified teachers. In the afternoons and weekends, students go on a full cultural and activity programme with their teacher.  This provides many more opportunities to use your English in real life, better understand the culture and grow in self-confidence!  You will see many of the major sights of London in this exciting programme.

Studying in South London

SUL Intensive summer English language courses

This course provides a great opportunity for students to experience life in an English homestay family home while seeing all the great sights that London has to offer. Our centre is in a safe and pleasant part of South London, an easy train ride to the centre. Students use a London Travel Pass to travel by train, underground train and local bus.

Students are pre-tested and put in classes according to their level. Classes are taught in groups of 4:1 in either some of the host families' homes or in a local educational centre. This small group size gives students the advantage of both group interaction and individual attention from the teacher. Lessons are linked to the afternoon programme, enabling you to make much greater use of the linguistic and cultural opportunities. Teachers may also be hosts but mostly they are not hosting.

You learn best when you are having fun and lessons are designed by our enthusiastic and qualified teachers to develop the confidence you need to enjoy communicating in English while you are here with us in England!

On one afternoon a week all the groups meet and enjoy sporting activities together. All groups also meet together again on every Saturday for the full day excursions, like to one to the Brighton and the sea. This gives everyone a chance to make new friends and catch up with their old friends.
